Office Location: Leeds with a requirement to travel to other towns and cities across Yorkshire and the Humber 


We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Youth Development Lead on a Maternity Cover basis, who will support young people based across Yorkshire and the Humber. There will be a specific focus on our Get Into programme combined with support for the whole team on our outreach. This is a varied role that will combine home working alongside working from our Leeds centre, an understanding that there will be a requirement to travel to other towns and cities across Yorkshire and the Humber as a part of this role is important.


Our Get Into team supports young people into employment by working with our delivery partners to develop, train and expand their knowledge and skills in many different sectors. You will need to be able to have the ability to manage programmes, partners and volunteers as well as deliver to and support young people on their journey to employment.


Key parts of this role will include:

  • Creation and delivery of sessions to groups of young people on the Get Into Programmes, focusing on personal and social development, life skills and employability skills.
  • Management of relationships with our referral and delivery partners, including contracts, payments, detailed delivery plans and quality assessment
  • Partnership and volunteer management: working with our partners to support the delivery of our programmes as well as supporting the volunteers that assist in programme delivery.
  • Providing pastoral care and safeguarding support and signposting
  • Providing 1-to-1 support directly to our young people
  • Supporting the development of business plans and financial forecasts
  • Working closely with volunteers and partner organisations to support our Young People
  • Working with wider colleagues to achieve a positive outcome for young people
  • Accurately completing paperwork and using our internal systems to actively onboard and manage our Young People as well as day-to-day general administration
  • Creating marketing material and promoting our programmes to young people and referral partners
