Our Youth Development Leads provide 1:1 and group support for young people so in addition to your Enterprise or Business knowledge you will need to have experience in facilitating skills development in at least one of the following:

  • Business start-up guidance and support

  • Education sector

  • Employability/self-employment training

There are challenging times at the moment but our commitment to our young people is as strong as it’s ever been. We want to keep providing support to young people face to face, however, we’ve developed new ways of working to enable all young people access to our services including a blended approach of virtual and face to face programme delivery.

As a Youth Development Lead, you’ll engage and build quality relationships with young people, volunteers and partners and as an effective communicator and collaborator, you will thrive in both team and independent work. If you believe you have the passion and skills to help young people change their lives, then we would love to hear from you!

Our Youth Development Leads work with young people from every background, so we’re passionate about building a diverse workforce that represents the young people we support. We therefore welcome applications from everyone who meets the essential criteria for the role, if you’re not sure if you do, please feel free to apply as you’ll have the chance to fill in a supporting statement and let us know what you would bring to the table and if you have lived experience that will help our young people.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to engage in challenges with optimism and resilience and be adaptive and flexible – embracing change and innovation. This role will be based in our  Central West ‘hub’  but working on a blended approach with some days where you will be working from home. You must be able to motivate yourself in that environment. You will also need to be proficient in the use of (or quick to learn) virtual platforms like Microsoft Teams, both to engage with colleagues and support in the delivery of programmes to young people.
