Working with People & Learning


People and Learning partner with the Trust to ensure colleagues have the best possible experience during their time here and are able to do their best work for young people.

This means we support with effective on-boarding when people join, provide great learning opportunities and support with every other aspect of people management, including pay and reward, development, employee relations, talent and recruitment.  


The Prince’s Trust Learning team are a dynamic, cross-functional team whose aim is to meet the learning needs of the organisation at quality and scale. We train colleagues and volunteers across a wide range of topics, including youth work, line management and personal effectiveness, so there are often opportunities to experience something new and challenging to develop your skillset as a learning professional. 


The People Partners sit within the People & Learning team, embedded in the business areas that they work with, partnering with senior stakeholders to develop and drive the People agenda in line with the organisational strategy and local business plans. 

They are close to the day to day challenges, opportunities and successes, supporting both strategic and operational activities by building strong, trusted relationships and developing people initiatives.  The role provides a fantastic opportunity to continually learn and develop alongside truly passionate people. 

Talent Acquisition

The Talent Acquisition team is a recently formed part of the People and Learning team at The Prince’s Trust, responsible for attracting  diverse talent into our teams across the organisation. From developing our employer brand, to using the best platforms to advertise and engage with future candidates, the team look after our end to end recruitment process, supporting our hiring managers and ensuring we offer a great candidate experience. 

Employee Relations

The Employee Relations and Policy team helps strengthen relationships at The Trust by providing managers with the tools they need to effectively manage their staff, whether this is supporting their staff through life events, settling disputes between colleagues, dealing with performance or sickness issues.   

We actively work with the organisation’s key internal stakeholders to determine the approach to people policy.  Through our policies we enable the organisation to run smoothly, support culture, good judgment and flexibility.  The team is also involved in various Trust-wide initiatives, including Gender Pay Gap reporting and Diversity and Inclusion.   

Shared Services

The HR Services team are responsible for the transactional side of everything required to employ someone at The Trust. It’s a wide area of responsibility and covers a lot of different topics from managing payroll, pension and benefits, processing new starters, contract changes and leavers, and processing family leave. Vetting checks are also handled by HR Services for Employees and Volunteers. 

We also maintain accurate data about each employee and ensure our HR and Payroll Systems are managed well. 

Pay & Reward

The main responsibility of the HR Payroll and Benefits Team is the accurate and timely production of the monthly employee payrolls. We respond to all queries received from employees and managers regarding pay, pensions and benefits, whilst we also provide advice and information to senior managers. We report all pensions contributions, statutory deductions to the relevant 3rd parties and respond to all queries received from external organisations (e.g. HMRC) or stakeholders. The Team are also responsible for ensuring the payroll system, is maintained and developed in-line with the current and future organisational needs.
