WHAT WE DO!

We create opportunities for vulnerable young people to thrive and support them to build their skills and confidence.

We enable them to take responsibility for their lives and work towards a future they can be proud of. To do this, we support 11 to 30 year olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school or being excluded.

Many of the young people we help are facing issues such as homelessness, mental health issues, or have been in trouble with the law.

Our free programmes give young people the practical and financial support they need to stabilise their lives. We help them develop key skills while boosting their confidence and motivation so they can continue to dream big.

Together, we can change young lives!

  • GEMMA - PRINCE'S TRUST EXECUTIVE

“I love working for the Prince’s Trust because it allows me to support and work with the ‘youth of today’. There have been many times where I’ve had that ‘proud’ feeling seeing them achieve their dream or goal.

I work on the Get into programme, which supports young people 16-30 into employability through hands-on training and ‘classroom’ based skills teaching.”

  • MARTIN – PRINCE’S TRUST EXECUTIVE

“I joined the Prince’s Trust to help people and make a positive difference to the local community.

On a daily basis, I listen to people’s aspirations for starting a business and help them to set realistic objectives, identify what needs to be in place for that ambition to happen, deliver courses on becoming your own boss and support the development of Business Plans/Financial Forecasts through 1-2-1’s, emails, calls etc.

The thing I love the most about working for the Prince’s Trust is being a part of The Prince’s Trust family.”

  • VICKY – PRINCE’S TRUST EXECUTIVE

“It’s always been my dream to work for a charity and to give back in some way, and with my experience of working directly with young people, gaining a role at The Prince’s Trust was the perfect opportunity!

When people ask me what I do at The Prince’s Trust I never know what to say because every day is so different. One day I will be undertaking direct delivery with a group of young people, the next day I will be visiting one of our education partners to support them with the delivery of one of our programmes. I have also taken on lots of new and exciting initiatives including being a Social Media Champion, Young Ambassador coordinator and Innovation Ambassador!"

SUCCESS STORIES

As a Prince's Trust Executive, you get to make a significant impact on young people's lives. Here is a small selection of success stories, where one of our executives has transformed someone's life.

RACHEL

“Get into Healthcare taught me a wealth of new skills, but it also taught me that no matter how bad your life is, it can get better with the correct support. That’s what The Prince’s Trust gave to me; I went from nowhere to healthcare in just six weeks!”

Rachel is our National Delta Air Lines Rising Star Award winner 2019

LYLE

Lyle loved making videos and was signposted by his local community centre to a Prince’s Trust Get Started with Film course.

“The way The Prince’s Trust support you makes you feel like you’re never alone, and that makes the difference.”

He then went on an expedition with Fairbridge and did a placement with Sky and the BBC. Bosses there have since extended his placement because of his exceptional attitude and talent.

"Right now I am working in TV researching for new TV shows and pitching ideas to BBC1 and BBC2 – it’s amazing.”

ONOME

“I don’t come from a business background at all, so the Enterprise programme was crucial in giving me the support and knowledge I needed to prepare my business plan, financial forecasting and the pricing of my work.

On top of that, having the support of a mentor was invaluable. Knowing I had someone at the end of the phone gave me real peace of mind.”

Onome was one of five Enterprise-supported businesses invited to pitch their ideas to a Dragons’ Den-style panel at the Evening Standard’s Young Progress Makers 2017, and teamed up with the British Fashion Council to work with international designers at last year’s Milan Fashion Week.
