WHAT'S THE MOST REWARDING PART ABOUT WORKING AT THE PRINCE'S TRUST?

"Seeing your young person go from A to B and seeing their character, their confidence and their determination just grow”

- Cherie (Prince's Trust Executive)

ARE THERE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROMOTION?

“I joined the Trust almost 16 years ago as a Prince’s Trust Executive and have had amazing opportunities to really carve a career for myself in this charity sector to end up where I am now as the Director for my region.”

- Clare (Director for North of England)

WHAT’S IT LIKE WORKING AT THE PRINCE’S TRUST?

"Everyday is a challenge, it’s different, it’s brilliant. You work with some challenging young people but make a difference in their lives so it’s really rewarding.”

- Liam (Prince's Trust Executive)

ARE THERE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROMOTION?

“I started out as an Executive and was then promoted to an Operations Manager where I now manage Education and Volunteers. I think having that grounding of doing the job on the frontline and direct delivery has really helped me to understand my team and know what they’re going through. So yeah, massive opportunities for promotion within the Trust.”

- Jennifer (Operations Manager)

WHAT ARE THE WORKING HOURS?

Core hours are 7 hours per day with a one-hour unpaid break, to be worked between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.

It's rare but you may be asked to work a Saturday to support our young people between 9am and 4pm.”

WHAT WOULD I WEAR TO WORK?

“We currently operate a ‘dress for your day’ policy – for example, if you are working outdoors with young people all day –comfortable and practical; if you are meeting a stakeholder – smart/casual, etc.

We also typically have a casual Friday.”

WHAT KIND OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT DO YOU GET?

“The Trust offers a variety of internal and external training opportunities but the essential training are things like; Youth Mental Health, First Aid, Safeguarding, Challenging Behaviour, Skills Kit (which is a training opportunity for all Execs) and an Online learning platform.

All training is identified through regular support and supervision sessions.”

- Jordan (Prince's Trust Executive)

HOW MUCH TRAVEL IS REQUIRED?

“Travel around your allocated region will be a daily/weekly occurrence to make sure we’re working where our young people need us. Occasional travel to other Prince’s Trust offices further afield will also be required.

This is not solely an office-based position.”

DO I NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM HOME?

“There may occasionally be some 2 or 3 days training courses but this is unusual and would not be a regular feature of the role.

Accommodation would be covered by The Prince’s Trust within expenses limits.”

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO DO ON A DAILY BASIS?

This is an extremely varied role so this mainly depends on your programme areas. This could include direct delivery of Prince’s Trust programmes:

  • Enterprise, self-employment training and Employability training
  • Teambuilding
  • Outdoor activities
  • Community projects
